Have you ever been on a hike and wondered what flower that was, what tree that was, or what bird just sang?
With loads of fun tips, tricks, and knowledge about many native species of Western North Carolina, Hiking Guide and naturalist Ellie will lead a naturalism workshop and hike centered around the species of Grandfather Mountain. As we move up in elevation, we will explore how species composition changes, enter a “mountaintop island,” and learn about the glaciation that was behind it. This hike will be plant and botany-centric, but other critters will be discussed!
Cost: $25. Poles can be rented for $10.
