What do I need to bring?
The only requirement is a fishing license and gratuity for your guide if you choose, but some of the items we suggest are: sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting wet, water bottle, rain jacket and a camera.

Is food included?
Food is included on all full day trips. For half days, we get you back in the early afternoon in order to get lunch somewhere if you choose.

What is required for a fishing license?
Please go to licensing & permits for detailed information on minimum licensing requirements.
Licenses can be purchased from your phone the day of your trip if necessary.

Who is required to have a fishing licenses?
All Anglers 16 years and older are required to have a fishing license in the state we are fishing.

– Western, NC
– Eastern, TN
– Southwest, VA
All within ~1hr +/- of Downtown Blowing Rock -
Will you provide everything for the trip?
Yes! All equipment and supplies necessary to have a successful fishing trip are provided.

What if I have no fly fishing experience?
Not a problem! We tailor the trip to accommodate any fishing experience level.

What if the weather is bad?
We take our adventures rain or shine, sleet or snow. We only cancel in the event of unsafe condition (i.e. lightning, high winds, etc) and we will work with you to reschedule accordingly. Please see our cancellation policy on your booking confirmation.

Is it expected to tip your fishing guide?
Typical gratuity is 20%.

How long is the drive to where we're fishing?
It is dependent on where we fish, but it is anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes if we are floating in Tennessee.

Can I bring my dog?
This is a case by case situation. The dog will not be able to join on a float trip as the boat doesn’t have enough room. Otherwise, it will be a decision between you and the guide. Mostly, it will affect your experience and learning curve with the addition of a dog on the river.
