Would you like to begin backpacking but are unsure where to start? Embark on an overnight adventure at the base of Grandfather Mountain with Ellie, our knowledgeable hiking guide and naturalist.
We will hike 5 miles each day through pastures of wildflowers, woods, by streams, and set up in a backcountry campsite at the base of Grandfather Mountain. The night will be topped off by delicious food prepared by Ellie and a sunset off the gorgeous Storyteller Rock, that has 260* views of Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge.
We will explore the stunning scenery and diverse ecosystems with a nice blend of gradual ascents and descents. The trail will wind its way through forests of Spruce Fir, open meadows, and rugged ridges, offering breathtaking views. From fine-tuning your equipment to selecting the appropriate footwear to filtering water, we will guide you through every step of the process. The hiking guide will supply all of the food for this trip (Dietary restrictions considered).
